• I Love You

This review will be about I Love You, by Shige Chen. Illustrated by Pía Valentinis and Mario Onnis. Published by Reycraft Books, 2022

You will soon learn that I am a sucker for a beautifully illustrated storybook. I enjoy classically beautiful illustrations, vividly colored ones, and some that are a different or unique style. This book fits the last for me.

The summary from the inside front flap of the book reads, “A young girl’s three words escape and voyage around the globe, mending hearts and raising spirits. This imaginative tale of flight shows just how far a little love can go.”

I absolutely love the idea of this book, and was delighted to see it brought to life as I read through the pages! This one is definitely a great one to read to a child to really show how the simple words “I love you” can change the world around them.

I don’t want to spoil it, but I just love as the story goes on, how the “I love you” affects each person it encounters differently. I think it’s a wonderful reminder that we all show and perceive acts of love in our own unique ways.

This is an easy read, fun because of the taller shape of the book that works well with the illustrations. Visit your local library and check it out yourself- find out if the “I love you” ever got to the person it was intended for!

  • Some of my favorite books are for children…

Do you remember the old TV jingle for the Toys R’ Us commercials? You know the one, “I don’t want to grow up!” That is me. Except forget the toys, keep me in books! Who said adults don’t read picture books anymore? When your child grows out of them, most say goodbye until it is time to introduce the next generation to books as a grandparent. I am so fortunate to have found my dream job- working in a library! Surrounded by awesome books and eagerly awaiting the next release by a favorite author. I get to spotlight some books at work, or make book trailers, but sometimes it just doesn’t do it justice. That is why I created this blog, so I can go into more detail and really give some great reviews. I am always coming across books that I want to tell the world about, so here we go!
